Bio
Vanessa is a registered Occupational Therapist, who has a passion for cognitive and physical functional rehabilitation. She completed her Master’s at Queen’s university in Kingston Ontario in 2023. Prior to becoming an OT, her previous career was working in Child and Youth Mental Health with various local social service organizations. Since she returned to school to pursue OT, she has since switched focusses, and is now very passionate about working with adults of all ages on re-engaging in life’s most meaningful activities.
Throughout her education, she had clinical placement opportunities in in-patient brain injury rehabilitation, home and community care, and community mental health. She found a passion and interest in supporting individuals with orthopedic conditions such as chronic pain and limited mobility, and acquired brain injury including stroke and post concussion syndrome. Since graduating from Queen’s University, she has worked with individuals in the auto-sector completing home and worksite assessments and creating ongoing treatment plans to support her clients to meet their individual goals including but not limited to aging in place, returning to work, increasing activity tolerance, re-engaging in their community, and managing post-accident symptoms.
In her spare time, Vanessa spends her evenings at the rock climbing gym, or attending her community choir practices. She loves to try new recipes and eat delicious food! She understands how important it is to be able to do the daily activities that are most meaningful to you and is looking forward to supporting you through your goal setting journey to get back to doing the things that you need to do and want to do!
