Matthew joined the LV Physiotherapy Team in September 2022. He is a current member of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences degree from Brock University. He obtained his Master’s in Physical Therapy at Western University in 2022.
Matthew was born and raised in the area and worked as a Head Lifeguard with the City of St. Catharines for multiple years before transitioning to pursue Physiotherapy. Throughout his educational journey, Matthew has had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patient populations. He has volunteered extensively with athletes and sports teams at the Waterloo Sports Medicine Clinic, Woodstock Sports Medicine Clinic, and Brock University Don Lorimer Athletic Therapy Clinic. He has also worked with neurological patients at the renowned London Parkwood Institute in their Inpatient Acquired Brain Injury Program and Brock-Niagara Centre for Health & Well-Being in their Heart Strong and Power Cord Exercise Programs.
Matthew aims to inspire and assist individuals to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. He does so by promoting, resorting, and maintaining physical well-being through evidence-based interventions such as pain neuroscience education, exercise prescription, and manual therapy. Matthew is committed to providing attentive, individualized, patient-focused care that ensures each client understands their injury and is an active contributor in their recovery.
Matthew is passionate about continuing to further his education and expand his practical skills in advanced manual therapy, dry needling, acupuncture, soft tissue release, and vestibular & concussion rehabilitation. He also stays up-to-date and well-informed on continuing changes to the profession by reading valid and reliable scientific literature.
Outside of the clinic, Matthew enjoys staying active through running, yoga, and strength training. Matthew believes in being a hybrid athlete who can excel simultaneously in all domains of exercise and activity. However, on the weekend you will see him glued to the tv screen cheering on his favorite football and soccer teams. GO DOLPHINS & MAN CITY!! Matthew is an avid traveller who loves going everywhere from beaches to mountains, but will also make time to watch his favourite tv shows: Game of Thrones, Peaky Blinders, and The Office. He also loves food (especially Indian and Asian cuisine) and spending quality time with his family and friends. Some of his favourite physiotherapy quotes he likes to share with his patients are, “Do something today your future self will thank you for” and “A doctor saves lives, a physiotherapist makes that life worth living”.
